The most critical facet of an organization is how decisions get made.

Today, as pieces of code – smart contracts – living on blockchains facilitate different methods of decision making, we are faced with a variety of important questions:  What sort of “checks and balances” can or should be implemented in an on-chain governance system?  What standards are already in place to guide the development and expression of on-chain governance?

We aim to answer all of these questions and even to ask a few more in the deGov subsection of Wolverine Blockchain.  We recognize the increasing importance of governing exponentially valuable and powerful technologies.  For example, AI driven prediction systems within high stakes domains such as medicine and insurance.  In recognition of the social and potentially existential risk posed by today’s technologies, WBC’s deGov educates students in everything from fundamentals to the cutting edge of this new governance paradigm.  To capture the ingenuity and creativity of this space, we pull ideas and professionals from leading research and development organizations like the Token Engineering Commons, the Smart Contract Research Forum, and more.

Quadratic voting?  We’re on that.  Protocol consensus?  We’ve got you covered.  How the hell blockchain based governance systems will map to existing standards and law?  Well, admittedly not a lot of clear legislation is yet passed concerning on-chain governance (in the USA at the time of writing) – but we’ll be doing our best to involve you on these developments locally and on the world scale!

Over the coming months and years, WBC deGov will embark on an educational journey to chart the mind map of on-chain governance technologies and methodologies.  We only desire to provide students the opportunity to engage with masterminds of incentive design, pro’s in the world of DAO governance, and a world class student community.

If this resonates with you – you might just be right for DeGov.
